Liz Elmhirst

Painter and Printmaker

Liz is based in London and teaches drawing and watercolour at Putney School of Art and Design as well as producing her own work.

Liz is both prolific and skilful in many mediums, including printing and in particular etching, as well as watercolours and drawing. Liz has had experience of making ceramics and is particularly inspired by ceramics from Africa and China.

Brought up on the family farm in Yorkshire Liz developed keen observational skills and a natural affinity with the landscape, nature and wildlife. Inspired by the numerous places she visits, including France, Italy and Cornwall, Liz works in situ, giving an immediacy and freedom to her interpretation of the varied architecture, land and seascapes in her art.

Liz has exhibited widely, especially in London, including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Bankside Gallery Open and the Mall Gallery. She has also had many solo Exhibitions including one at the National Theatre and two at The Museum of Garden History in Lambeth.
